Machine Shop (Boyne City, MI)
at PDS in Michigan
Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts by operating mechanical equipment. Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units.
Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.
Operate powered machines including CNC lathes and mills. Deburr, clean, and inspect parts.
Read engineering blueprints and have an understanding of the principles and rules used in interpreting symbols, dimensioning, and tolerance.
Special Considerations:
-Work typically performed in a warehouse or industrial environment
-Worker may be expected to lift items weighing more than 25lbs
-Worker may be expected to use a fork-lift, motor vehicle, motorized pallet jack or other material handling machine
Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent 3 years of machine shop experience. Lathe programming set up and operation experience.
CNC machine set-up & operation. Ability to read write and communicate with other employees. Proper use of tools and safe work practices.
