Materials Manager, Naperville, IL Area
Materials Manager plans, coordinates and controls all activities related to the procurement, receipt, scheduling, storage, shipping and inventory control of all materials necessary to the company, in meeting its’ sales and manufacturing commitments.
This position will be responsible for:
· Production Planning
· Material Procurement (establishment of strategic relationships, price negotiations, contract negotiations)
· Vendor management (qualification, evaluation, performance tracking)
· Stockroom operations (kitting of materials)
· Shipping/Receiving
· Inventory Management
· Quoting support to engineering
· Establishment of annual cost reduction goals
· Will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the overall work duties and professional development of the individual department members
· An individual who views challenges as opportunities for improvement
· An individual who is both “hands-on” and has the ability to quickly develop and implement “best practice’ policies and procedures
Requirements:
· The individual will be tenacious at achieving deadlines and maintain the flow of materials to support production schedules
· Be driven by continuous improvement
· Experienced in implementing and maintaining ERP systems
· Have seven (7) plus years supervising and managing employees in an electronics work environment
· Possess a minimum of a BS degree in a materials related field and a CPM, CPIM and APICS certification
