Essential Functions

Performs planning and design work for building construction, renovation and repair projects. Plans, designs and develops specifications and drawings for facilities maintenance, repair and renovation work. Ensures that professional consultants provide appropriate services related to program and scope requirements of design projects. Reviews bids and makes award recommendations for projects. Job duties will require project scheduling, estimating and planning as well as representing the County on renovation and repair projects. Ensures contractors comply with plans and specifications for renovation and repair projects.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering AND two (2) years of directly related increasingly responsible professional architectural or engineering planning, design or construction, licensed Professional Architect or Professional Engineer, including one (1) year of lead, management or project management experience.

License: *Possession of a license as a Registered Architect or Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas, if licensed in another state, must acquire license reciprocity in the State of Texas within six months of hire. *Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Preferred: Experience in facilities maintenance and competence with AutoCAD.

Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
