Essential Functions

Serves as the primary point of contact to investigate and respond to discrimination complaints based on Title VII, Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1991, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and other federal, state and local employment related laws and regulations. Evaluates complaints in consultation with legal counsel and collaboratively develops an investigation strategy. Plans, schedules, coordinates and conducts timely and efficient investigations based on sound and applicable investigative principles, techniques and procedures. Complaints may include allegations of discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, and retaliation.

Required Qualifications
Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Development or a directly related field AND five (5) - seven (7) years of experience in Human Resources functions e.g., EEO/AA compliance, including legal interpretation, complaint investigation and reporting; grievance processes and outreach, and discipline/discharge procedures. Must have demonstrated experience with federal, state, and local employment law, diversity, and investigative strategies Demonstrated experience with EEO training and presentations Demonstrated knowledge of current EEO `best practices', human resource compliance law, and policy & procedure development and interpretation. Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable of HRIS systems

Licenses / Certifications:
Possession of a valid Texas Drivers License may be required.
Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR) may be preferred.

Preferred: Combined experience in HR and employment law practice.

Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00 PM

Work site: 1010 Lavaca Street, Austin, Texas
