Essential Functions
Performs job analysis in designing, implementing, maintaining and communicating innovative compensation systems, pay structures, policies, procedures and guidelines for all levels of jobs classifications in a multi-year strategic planning cycle. Serves as a technical expert in various competitive and progressive compensation pay systems, practices, philosophies, structures, recruitment and retention initiatives, and implementation strategies. Manages the development of complex spreadsheets, reports, total project costing and graphs for data analysis in Salary Planning Administration (Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint) for job analysis projects. Develops, edits and finalizes written communication reports and materials, including PowerPoint presentations to management and departments. Researches and analyzes compensation market and trends. Presents findings, recommendations and various compensation approaches. Develops, edits and finalizes written communication materials. Writes, revises, and maintains job descriptions. Serves as day-to-day consultant to assigned departments.
Required Qualifications
Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a directly related field AND six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in a human resources area of specialization or related field.
License / Certification:
Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s License may be required.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or coursework towards PHR or SPHR may be preferred.
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or coursework towards CCP may be preferred.
Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or coursework towards CEBS or CBP may be preferred.
Demonstrated advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint) skills. *Demonstrated strong written and presentation skills. *Strong customer service skills. *Demonstrated strong job knowledge of FLSA. *Strong skills to interpret policies and procedures. *Excellent project and time management skills to handle multiple projects. *Advanced communication and presentation skills. *Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. *Demonstrated strong organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve outstanding issues. *Advanced knowledge of compensation related resources.
Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and works some holidays and weekends.
Work site: 1010 Lavaca Street
