Design Engineer ( Mechanical)

SR. Design Engineer, Dayton, OH area
Design equipment and guide, coach, mentor mechanical engineers and tech’s.
lead work on assigned projects developing scopes of work, systems operations, designs of equipment utilizing AutoCAD design software, as well as MS Office products, and other engineering software.
Lead interaction with the sales staff and engineering group to determine/verify project scope and operation.
To run hand calculations to size and select all of the necessary equipment such as pumps, valves, housings etc.; as well as assisting other mechanical engineers in performing these duties.
Participation and leading of project review meetings to help determine the designs to be detailed, and changes/updates that will need to be documented in CAD, on design calculations, and in the BOM.
Develop and deliver equipment/control submittal drawings and required support documentation.
Write functional equipment manuals for designed equipment.
Perform design calculations for a variety of mechanical devices.
Perform sign-off for a drawing release to manufacturing/field.
Work with manufacturing on the construction and assembly of projects on the shop floor.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar program
8 plus years of relevant experience including previous leadership roles
Proficient with AutoCAD 2D software.
Some travel will be required.
