Salary: $11.00 – $12.37 Hourly. Commensurate with experience.

Essential Functions
Performs construction and maintenance work in one or more specialized programs in a large public works department. Duties include reconstruction/rehabilitation, surface maintenance, secondary drainage, right-of-way maintenance and/or customer services programs. Performs general road maintenance labor and operates light duty vehicles. Performs general traffic control. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment. Cuts, mows and trims grass and removes brush along roadside.

Required Qualifications
Education and experience equivalent to one (1) year of road construction and maintenance experience.

License: *Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s License. *Possession of a valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). *Possession of Texas Pesticide and Herbicide Applicator’s License may be required.

Special Requirements: Certification for inmate supervision within basic corrections officer training may be required.

Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Work site: *East Service Center – 6011 Blue Bluff Road or *Westside Service Center – 4501 FM 620 North

CDL REQUIRED (Proof of CDL or CDL permit must be presented at interview)
