Essential Functions
Directs and manages programs related to housing, carpentry, construction, inspection, renovation, weatherization and rehabilitation for the Housing Division. Directs subordinate managers and staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and dismissals, ensuring activities are consistent with policies, procedures, laws, regulations, goals and objectives. Evaluates effectiveness of programs and operations and develops new and modified initiatives to improve effectiveness. Directs and participates in development of annual program budget; oversees grant programs; and purchasing and inventory of building materials and equipment. Represents the organization and collaborates with governmental and public agency representatives, community outreach and advocacy groups, service providers and others. Prepares periodic reports, financial analyses and statistical reports on program activities, results and performance.
Required Qualifications
Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral science or related field AND seven (7) years increasingly responsible experience in social services, including two (2) years of supervisory or management experience.
License: Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s License
Preferred: Experience with construction, carpentry, housing and grant management.
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
